We recently heard from one of our very first graduates, Kenneth Crawford from the inaugural graduating class of 2012, about his latest professional move. Here is his announcement in his own words:
“I was privileged to be called back to work at my undergraduate institution, Wiley College, in 2018 as a Professional Academic Coach / Advisor providing Success Coaching / Academic Advising to Freshmen & Sophomores. After just a year, I was promoted to Associate Director of Retention and Student Achievement, where I was fortunate to host student learning workshops and manage student tutorial services. After a brief time as the associate director, I transitioned over to Enrollment Management where I served as the Associate Director of New Student Engagement. In this role I was in charge of New Student Orientation.
After serving a brief time in this position I was asked by the former Provost at Wiley College, who is now the ninth President of Denmark Technical College, if I would be interested in serving as the Special Assistant to the President at Denmark Technical College in Denmark, South Carolina. I was elated to join the Denmark Technical College family as I know this position will help my trajectory towards becoming a President of Historically Black College or University one day. I’m also excited to announce that I will be concluding my Ph.D. Program later this fall semester. I defended my dissertation proposal on April 21 and successfully passed. Now I’m moving on to chapters 4 & 5 and then, lastly, the dissertation defense.”
